1955

Elvis performed in "The Dessau Hall" Austin, Texas

1956

Elvis goes to Nola Studio at 12.30 PM for a rehearsel.
At 4.00 PM Elvis goes to CBS Studio. Elvis performed in "Tommy & Jimmie Dorsey Stage Show" 8.00 PM.

1957

Elvis left Los Angeles by train for Memphis.

1958

Elvis went shopping at Pop Tunes and got a haircut at Jim's Barber Shop downtown.

1971

Elvis had to remain in the hospital and the remainder of the paid-up studio time was given over to James Burton, who used the session band to record a solo album for A & M Records.

1972

Elvis flew to Las Vegas for 5 days

1974

Just like the day before Elvis performed at the Mid-South Coliseum, Memphis, at 2.30 and 8.30 p.m.The crowd was 12300 this time aswell and Elvis wore the Fire suit at 2:30 and Blue starburst suit at 8:30. Both suits he wore with original belts.






1976

The first tour of this year started with some confusions.
Glen Hardin resigned and Burton and Tutt indicated that they would leave as well.
At the last minute Burton returned, the others were replaced.
Elvis performed at the Freedom Hall Civic Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 7000 and Elvis wore the silver phoenix suit with the second belt.

1955

Elvis performed in "The Ruffin Theater" Covington, Tennessee

1956

Elvis and the band flies to New York

1958

Elvis received a telephone call from his parents; they announced that they had found the ideal home; it was called Graceland.

1971

Dr. Nick flew in from Memphis with Dr. Meyer, an ophthalmologist,
who treated Elvis at his hotel before admitting him to Nashville's Baptist Hospital,
where a diagnosis of iritis and secondary glaucoma was confirmed.
Elvis was visited by Barbara Leigh and Tennessee governor Winfield Dunn.
At the studio Felton Jarvis resumed work, overdubbing background vocal in anticipation of
Elvis' return.

1974

Elvis performed at the Mid-South Coliseum, Memphis, Tennessee at 2.30 and 8.30 p.m.
At both concerts the crowd was 12300. At 2:30 p.m Elvis wore the 1973 american eagle suit with the second belt and at 8:30 pm he wore the 1973 arabian suit with original belt
This was Elvis' first appearance in his hometown since 1961 and the 4 shows that were initially booked, were sold out immediately. So the Colonel added a fifth one, which were the perfect occasion for a live homecoming album and so the perfect way to avoid having to coax Elvis back into the studio. Elvis seemed both happy and mildly amused to be there and he declared: "Hello Memphis. It's good to be home".





1975

This day was the first of a 3 day rehearsals period beginning each day at noon.
Like always Elvis tried a lot of songs which were never performed on stage.

1955

Elvis draws an agreement with Bob Neal for one year.

1956

Elvis performed in "Fox Theater" Atlanta, Georgia at 4.30, 7.18 and 10.06 PM for the second day. He gets $ 1831,54.

1960

Elisabeth Stefaniak left, presumably to visit her parents, but in fact met Rex Mansfield
and the 2 of them decided to marry secretly, sending Elvis an invitation to their wedding on June 4. Neither one of them ever saw Elvis again.

1965

Principal photography began on Harum Scarum. Joe Esposito, whom was fired by Elvis on the ride home to Memphis in August 1964 returned to the group to become "coforeman" with Marty Lacker.

1967

Elvis was still in Palm Springs, recuperating from his fall, so wasn't able to attend the
wedding between Jerry Schilling and Sandy Kawelo.

1968

Elvis filmed scenes for Live A Little, Love A Little at Marineland.
The Presley's hired Bernard and Rene Sinclair as butler and cook for their new Hillcrest home

1971

Elvis arrived in Nashville for a session at RCA's Studio B.
Priscilla flew to California to supervise the redecorating of the new house.
Everybody hoped for the same success of the previous year,
but there were problems from the start. Finally Elvis called the session off,
at 1.30 a.m. because of discomfort in his eye.

1974

Elvis performed at the Stokely Athletic Center, University of Tennessee, Knoxville,
Tennessee at 2.30 and 8.30 p.m. both concerts had a crowd of 13305 and at 2:30 Elvis
wore the Blue Starburst suit with the original belt. At 8:30 he wore orange sunburst suit with the original belt.







1975

Elvis traveled to Las Vegas by plane, while his belongings were delivered to the Las Vegas Hilton.

1956

Elvis performed in "Fox Theater" Atlanta, Georgia at 4.30, 7.18 and 10.06 PM
Elvis arrives in the theater at 11.30 AM.

1958

Elvis and his entourage got off the train in Dallas and rented Cadillacs for the drive to Memphis. Back at Graceland a reporter asked Elvis how his parents felt about his going into the army. Elvis admitted that his mother was very upset about that, like all mothers.
On the question of whether his popularity would fade during his absence Elvis responded:
" That's the sixty-four-dollar question. I wish I knew."
On this day in 1958, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the first gold record. It was Perry Como’s Catch a Falling Star on RCA Victor Records.
The tune became the first to win million-seller certification, though other songs dating as far back as the 1920s may have sold a million records or more.
Due to lack of a certification organization like the RIAA, they weren’t awarded the golden platter. One of the next three gold records that were certified after Perry Como’s million seller was "Hard Headed Woman" by Elvis Presley.

1960

The cast of Holiday on Ice visited Graceland during the day.
In the evening the Memphian was rent to screen some movies.

1962

Elvis bought some jewelry from Harry Levitch, including a handmade fourteen-karat
yellow gold diamond tie tack.

1963

Publicity stills were taken in the morning and Hal Wallis approved a request from Elvis to
keep 2 of the black silk shirts and the flamenco outfit that he wore in the movie.

1974

Elvis performed at the Middle Tennessee State University Athletic Center, Murfreesboro, Tennessee. 8:30 p.m the crowd was 12.200 and elvis wore the Aqua blue vine suit with the second belt

1956

Elvis goes to "Traffic Violations Bureau" Memphis to pay his ticket.

1960

There was an Ice show at Ellis again,
where Elvis shortly conducted the orchestra with a lighted baton.

1968

Principal photography for Live A Little, Love A Little, began.

1974

Elvis performed at the Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina 8:30 p.m
The crowd was 16400 and elvis wore the blue starbustsuit with Original belt.





1975

Elvis returned to the RCA studio for rehearsals for the Las Vegas show and he worked
from 9.00 p.m. to 3.00 a.m.

1955

Elvis performed in Schreveport "Louisiana Hayride" Louisiana

1956

At 8.44 AM Elvis, Vernon and Gladys signed the papers of $29.500 for the new house by
Welsh Plywood Corporation.

1958

Elvis was back in Hollywood and attended a cast party, given by Hal Wallis.
In an interview with Vernon Scott Elvis said that the army couldn't be any
worse than the merry-go-round he had been on for the past 2 years.

1960

Elvis threw a party at Graceland. He took time out to greet a group of deaf children who
arrived at the gates of Graceland.

1961

Elvis went to Nashville by bus to the RCA Studio B to record new songs for his
album and a new single. He worked from 6.00 p.m. to 5.15 a.m.

1962

Elvis bought a 1962 Dodge House Car for over $10,500.
This was the way he planned to travel to California.

1967

After learning of the accident ( Elvis bathroom injury ) Vernon and Priscilla flew out
from Memphis to Elvis. The Colonel had by now dismissed Marty Lacker as coforeman,
leaving Joe Esposito in charge. Larry Geller was banished,
forbidden by the Colonel to spend any time alone with Elvis.
There were no more religious discussions and no more books allowed.

1969

Principal photography began. Primarily the filming took place at
the studio but included some locations around Los Angeles.

1974

Elvis performed at the Coliseum, Richmond, Virginia 8:30. The crowd was 11.791 and Elvis wore
1973 American eagle suit with the second belt.






1975

Elvis finished the sessions in the RCA studio with 2 more masters before he broke off
at 3.30 a.m. The 10 songs were barely enough for a new album and there was no new single among them.

1977

Elvis got some sand into his eye and instead of visiting the USS Arizona,
he hurried back home to Memphis. Dr. Nick suggested that Elvis would recuperate
at home for a week or so before going out on tour once again.

1955

Elvis performed in "The Jimmie Thompson`s Arena" Alexandria, Louisiana

1960

Elvis had his hair dyed black and then gave Elizabeth driving lessons in the
yellow Lincoln he had bought for her to use. Charlie Hodge and Joe Esposito
came to Graceland too and were joined by Red West and Cliff Gleaves a little later.

1964

Elvis begged Roustabout' director John Rich to let him do his own fight scenes.
Of course there was an accident and Elvis required stitches to sew up the cut above his eye.
However, there were no shooting days lost, because the motorcycle accident was already
filmed and Elvis cut could well be the result of that.

1968

Elvis returned to Western Recorders to cut the vocal for "Almost In Love".

1974

Elvis performed at the Coliseum, Hampton Roads, Virginia 8:30 p.m
The crowd was 10.957 and Elvis wore Aqua blue vine suit with the original belt




1975

Elvis went into the RCA studio again, and worked just like the day before.
He recorded 4 masters once again, including "TROUBLE" and "Shake A Hand".
