Elvis - december 20

1957

Elvis picked up his draft notice and went to Sun Records.
In the evening Elvis left for Nashville to deliver the Colonel's Christmas present in person: a red Isetta sports car.



1958

Elvis returned to Bad Nauheim at the conclusion of maneuvers. Elisabeth Stefaniak had promised him to come over and work for him as his secretary to help him with the enormous amount of fan mail the Colonel had sent to Germany.

1961

Elvis finishes filming Kid Galahad and flies to Las Vegas in order to avoid spending the holidays with his father Vernon and his new wife Dee at Graceland.

1966

Having finished with the clothes, Elvis purchases two horses for himself and Priscilla, as well as two for Jerry Schilling and his fiancee, Sandy Kawelo.

1967

Elvis bought the Colonel a 18 karat gold Accutron calendar wristwatch for $595 and a second one for Tom Diskin. Elvis purchased a new grand piano for Graceland as well today.

1968

Elvis flew home to Memphis and arrived early in the morning. In the evening he went to the movies,
like he would do almost every night while he was in Memphis.

1970

Flying back to Washington, Elvis finds himself sharing the commercial flight with senator George Murphy of California. The two begin to talk about the tumult in American society, and Elvis composes a hand-written letter to President Richard Nixon, essentially asking for a Bureau of Narcotics badge. Murphy delivers the note when he lands.

1976

Elvis gives Ginger Alden a Cadillac Seville and a white Lincoln.

1955

Elvis goes shopping in Memphis. He buys for $39,04 by the juweler and $50 by Lansky.
Also, Elvis performes at Ellis auditorium, Memphis TN. This was a christmas charity musical show. (8:00)



1957

Elvis received an informal word from Memphis draft board chairman Milton Bowers,
that his induction notice had been drawn and was waiting for him.

1962

Having apparently made his decision, Elvis meets Priscilla at his father's house in Memphis,
where she has driven in from New York City with father Vernon and stepmother Dee.
Elvis wanted to show Priscilla Graceland by him self.
Priscilla is nervous, and Elvis prescribes some sleeping pills which leave her asleep for the better part of two days.

1966

Elvis was interviewed by the Memphis Commercial Appeal and talked about Christmas time as well as in the past as in the present: "Everything is so dreamy when you are young. After you grow up it kind of becomes just real."

1970

Back at Graceland, and echoing the sentiments that have caused Presley to stay away from the Colonel, Priscilla and Elvis' father Vernon attempt to corner him to express disapproval over his lavish spending habits.
Infuriated, Elvis flies to Washington D.C., then Dallas, then Los Angeles,
where he contacts Mafioso Jerry Schilling and essentially disappears from his wife and family. Later, fellow Mafioso Sonny West will be allowed to tell his family that he is safe, but no more.

1954

Elvis performed in Schreveport, Louisiana Hayride. Elvis sings four songs; "Hearts Of Stone", "Shake, Rattle And Roll", Thats all right and Blue moon of Kentucky. ( 8:00 PM )

1968

The Trouble With Girls was completed and finally Elvis was released by the studio.

1969

Somewhat later than usual Elvis returned to Memphis for the Christmas season.
Until his return to Los Angeles on January 6, he would spent almost every night at the Memphian.

1970

In hopes of placating his father, Elvis bought him a Mercedes.
Vernon had expressed his concern about Elvis' way of spending his money in the last couple of weeks.

1971

Priscilla and Lisa Marie arrived in Memphis and Elvis received a bill for the installation of a basket ball court at his Palm Springs home.

Elvis - december 17

1954

Elvis performes at Hawkins high gymnasium, Hawkins TX.
Ticketprice was $1 and the story says Elvis wore Pink Jacket and pink trousers.

1955

Elvis performed at Municipal Auditorium in Schreveport "Louisiana Hayride" Louisiana. ( 8:00 PM )

1963

Elvis presents the mayor of Memphis with a check for $55,000 to be split among 58 local charities.
On this date, RCA also extends Presley's recording contract to the end of 1971.



1965

Elvis made his annual donation of $50,000 to a variety of Memphis charities.

1970

Elvis flew to Memphis where he would stay most of the time until January 9, 1971.

1975

Elvis flew back home to Memphis in the Lisa Marie.

Elvis - december 16

Elvis bought the Santa sleigh and 8 reindeer for $300 from Bain Sigh Company in Memphis. They are still displayed on the Graceland lawn every year.



1967

Elvis and Priscilla returned to Memphis.

1970

Elvis countersues Patricia Parker in her paternity suit and views the final cut
of That's The Way It Is while in L.A.

1973

Including all the recordings of the last couple of days, Elvis finished 18 masters.
The songs reflected Elvis happier state of mind. For instance: I Got A Feeling In My Body, If You Talk In Your Sleep, Loving Arms, Talk About The Good Times and a rocking version of Promised Land.

Elvis performed in a show with Carl Perkins "The Catholic Club" Helena, Arkansas

1956

Elvis performes at the Fair grounds youth center, Shrevport LA (8:00 PM).
The crowd was over 9.000 and Elvis wore a green jacket, white shirt and blue trousers. This was Elvis last ever appearance on the Louisiana Hayride.

1966

Elvis presents DJ George Klein with his Christmas present - a yellow Cadillac convertible.

1973

Elvis had a studiosession at "Stax Studios" 9.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m.
They recorded a rocking version of Promised Land

1975

Closing night at Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas. at 12:00 am. 2200 in the crowd,
Elvis wore Rainfall suit with the original belt.

As part of his annual charity gift, Elvis donates $55,000 to various local organizations.
