1954

Elvis performed in "Eagle`s Nest" Memphis, backstage Elvis met "The Jordanairs".

1956

Elvis and Nick Adams took Natalie Wood down to the Hotel Chisca to meet Dewey Philips.

1957

Elvis was seen on a Halloweenparty wearing a mask.







1970

Elvis was again in Palm Springs for the weekend and purchased ammunition, holsters and a grip for a Colt Cobra at Tiny's Gun Shop.

1954

Elvis performed in "Eagle`s Nest" Memphis

1955

Elvis is back in his new home at Gettwel road.
He takes the B-side by Sun Studio's "Trying To Get To You".

1956

Elvis and his friends returned to Memphis by train after staying in New York City



1960

After Elvis travelled to Nashville by bus he joined all the regular Nashville musicians and backup singers. They worked with intense concentration and Elvis completed not only his album His Hand In Mine, but also single version of Surrender. However Elvis was not satisfied with Crying In The Chapel, so this song was not released for another 5 years.

1969

Elvis flew to Las Vegas. He was spotted by a gossip columnist Rona Barrett at the blackjack tables with a woman on each arm. Rona wrote in her column: " everybody is commenting on how good Elvis Presley looks these days while he's having fun at the International". Elvis answer in response was: "That's what a bad marriage does for you"

1976

This was the second night the musicians were together in the Jungle Room for a RCA recording session. They recorded a couple of instrumental tracks while waiting for Elvis to appear. Finally Elvis did, but only for a short time while there was a delivery of a shipment of Harley Davidsons. Elvis insisted to take them for trial runs up and down the driveway and to Linda's home, just around the corner. After that Elvis appeared again in the Jungle Room, but now he had a Thompson submachine with him to play with. Finally, it was almost morning,
he apologized to the group admitting he was not in the good mood to record anything.
So the session was called off. Elvis arranged for all the musicians a ride home, even went so far to give J.D. Sumner his white limousine to ride back to Nashville in style.

1954

Elvis performed in "Eagle`s Nest" Memphis. Oscar Davis, who works by Colonel Tom Parker, atended the show.

1955

Elvis performed in Schreveport "Louisiana Hayride" Louisiana.

1956

There was filmed a new ending for Love Me Tender at the Junco Studio.
The new scene had a ghostly image hovering over the mourners walking away from the grave. It almost seemed Elvis' hair was dyed black in this scene.
While during the rest of the film his hair had its natural color.

1957

Elvis performed at the Pan Pacific Auditorium, Los Angeles. His show was filmed by the police, just to make sure it passed scrutiny. After the show Elvis met Ricky Nelson.




1958

For the second time Elvis attended a Bill Haley concert in Stuttgart.

1959

Elvis was discharged form the hospital and told to remain at home for 3 more days.

1960

Freddy Bienstock arrived at Graceland to go over the songs for the next recording session in Nashville with Elvis.

1965

Elvis bought a Greyhound bus. This was a retired D'Elegance coach and Elvis planned to refurbish it to use it to drive to and from California.

1976

There was set up a studio in the "Jungle Room" to make a start with the first night recording session, running from 9.00 p.m. to 8.00 a.m. There were 3 songs recorded, including Way Down. Once again Elvis spent a lot of time in his bedroom, where he invited some of the singers and musicians. He even gave away some old clothes.

1955

Elvis performed in "The Curtis Gordon`s Ranch Club" Mobile, Alabama.

1956

Elvis attended a rehearsal for the show to unveil a big cut-out of him on the top of the Times Square Paramount Theater promoting the premiere of Love Me Tender.
He also gave a press conference, which he handled in a "polite, personable,
quick-witted and charming" manner. About his influence on teenagers Elvis stated:
" My Bible tells me that what he sows he will also reap, and if I'm sowing evil and wickedness it will catch up with me. If I did think I was bad for people, I would go back to driving a truck, and I really mean this". Elvis got inoculated with the new polio vaccine as part of a public service announcement for the March of Dimes. At the Maxine elliot Theater, West Thirty-ninth Street, at 8.00 p.m. Elvis sung Don't Be Cruel, Love Me, Love Me Tender and Hound Dog.
This was his second appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.





1957

Elvis performed at the Pan Pacific Auditorium, Los Angeles, California and outraged not only the press, but also an audience filled with Hollywood celebrities and their children. The headlines declared: Elvis Presley Will Have to Clean Up His Show Or Go To Jail. Even the Colonel was warned about consequences, but Elvis remained unfazed. He just said: "if I don't dance tonight, maybe I don't have to take a shower tonight". Elvis wrote a letter to Anita Wood, describing himself as "a little lonely boy 5000 miles away". Obviously very home sick Elvis continued: " one in fact who would never love anyone in his life as he loved her and who looks forward to their marriage and a little Elvis ".






1976

Since Elvis would return home any time from his 7th tour, the RCA recording truck was parked behind Graceland.

Elvis performed in "The National Guard Armory" Jackson, Alabama.

1957

Elvis performed at the Oakland Auditorium, Oakland, California.

1961

Elvis had a recording session for Kid Galahad, at Radio Recorders from 4.00 till 8.00 p.m.

1976

Elvis performed at the Southern Illinois University Arena, Carbondale, Illinois at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 10200 and Elvis wore "Egyptian" suit with "Chinese dragon head belt" The tour brought in $1,005,000 in profits, which was still divided two-thirds/one-third with the Colonel.

1955

3 show`s today. The first in "The Vigor High School" Mobile, Alabama at 10.00 AM.
Elvis performed at 3.30 and 7.30 PM in "The Greater Golf States Fair" Prichard, Alabama.

1956

Elvis arrived in New York and rehearsed there with the Jordanaires.
The Colonel concluded a deal with RCA, permitting them to use Elvis's name for promoting a record player called the Victrola phonogram

1957

Elvis performed at the Civic Auditorium, san Francisco, California at 3.00 and 8.15 p.m.

1961

Elvis began recording 6 songs for Kid Galahad' soundtrack at Radio Recorders.
He worked from 6.00 p.m. till 4.25 a.m.

1967

On the set of Stay Away Joe Elvis told a reporter from Cosmopolitan magazine that he still had a lot to learn about acting. " Much of his progress, he says, comes from hanging out with real good professionals, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't pick up on something from the other actors."

1976

Elvis performed at the University of Ohio, Dayton, Ohio at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 13000 and Elvis wore "Colorful flame" suit with original belt.
In The Star the same day, appeared an article by Steve Dunleavy (Red and Sonny West's collaborator) with parts of the telephone conversation
earlier that month between Elvis and Red, which Red had taped.
The headline was: " Elvis Dramatic Plea To His Ex-Bodyguards: Don't Write That Book About Me". This all was a terrible way to wake up for Elvis, that what he had considered to be a private thing between him and his friends was now fully out of control and well known to all.

Elvis performed in "The Armory" Houston, Texas

1956

While the band travelled north in Gladys' Cadillac and lost a wheel bearing in Pennsylvania, Elvis flew back to New York City with Gene Smith, Nick Adams and some others.

1960

Elvis bought a monkey at Katz Drug Store for $123,55.

1961

Elvis completed some dubbing for Follow That Dream.
In the afternoon he had to attend a music meeting for Kid Galahad.

1976

Elvis performed at the Memorial Coliseum, Fort Wayne, Indiana at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 8500 and Elvis wore "Blue Swirl" suit with "White two-piece" suit belt.

1955

Together with Sonny Burgess, Elvis performed in "The Silver Moon Club" New Port, Arkansas.

1956

Elvis had to leave for New York, but before that he, his parents and Juan Juanico attended a special screening of a rough cut of Love Me Tender. Except for Elvis everyone was enthusiastic.
Elvis however was not satisfied by his acting.

1959

Elvis was again hospitalised in the 97th General Hospital in Frankfort for tonsillitis.

1961

Elvis had to attend a music meeting after which he was introduced to some fighters,
to choose someone as his double in Kid Galahad.

1976

Elvis performed at the Roberts Stadium, Evansville, Indiana at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 13500 and Elvis wore "Chief" suit with the second belt.

1955

Elvis performed in "The Missouri Theater" St. Louis, Missouri at 2.00, 5.00 and 8.00 PM.

1956

Elvis got a visit from Nick Adams.

1958

Elvis attended a Bill Haley performance in Frankfurt and visited Haley backstage,
where he also met Little Gerhard, a rock 'n' roll star from Sweden.




1961

Elvis started with Kid Galahad. At United Artists he met producer David Weisbart and director Phil Karlson. First appointments were to be made with wardrobe and makeup, then, after a medical exam for the insurance, Elvis started with workouts with champion Mushy Calahan for his role in the movie Kid Galahad, co-starring Charles Bronson.

1964

Elvis had his way; Vernon moved from the house on Hermitage to a new home,
just behind Graceland.

1965

Elvis got a speeding ticket near Graceland around 4.00 a.m. while returning home from the Memphian.

1968

Elvis worked at United Artists Recorders with Billy Strange on the soundtrack for A Trouble With Girls from 7.00 p.m. till 3.15 a.m. Later Felton Jarvis would overdub and remix the tracks in Nashville.

1972

Elvis bought a gentleman's diamond and ruby ring from Lowell Hays for the amount of $3,456.

1976

Elvis performed at the Coliseum, Richfield, Ohio at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 20000 and Elvis wore "1974 arabiab" suit with "V-neck" suit belt.

Elvis - october 22

1956

During the evening Elvis rehearsed at home with the band and the Jordanaires for his second performance on the Ed Sullivan Show.

1965

Elvis liked to watch flims at the Memphian. This night he watched Dr. Strangelove again. More favourites of him were: King Rat, A Patch Of Blue, The Pawnbroker, Cleopatra, Johnny Nobody, The Spy Who Came In From The Cold, Thunderball and Dr. No.

1968

Elvis began with the production for his new and final MGM movie called Chautauqua.
The Colonel was afraid this title would give difficulties with the advertisements
so it was changed into The Trouble With Girls (and how to get into it).
The rehearsals started at 11.00 a.m.

1969

The four couples, Elvis and Priscilla, the Esposito's, the Gambills and the Schillings, who were planning to go to Europe together flew to Miami instead and then on to Nassau. They stayed at the Paradise Island Hotel. Unfortunately the weather was that bad the whole bunch returned home earlier than intended.

1970

Elvis flew to Palm Springs for the weekend.

1976

Elvis performed at the University of Illinois Assembly Hall, Champaign, Illinois at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 17000 and Elvis wore "Egyptian" suit with "Chinese Dragon head" belt

Elvis - october 21

1955

Elvis performed in "The Missouri Theater" St. Louis, Missouri at 7.00 and 9.30 PM

1956

Elvis was visited by Juan Juanico for a couple of days. Because of the many fans around the house they stayed inside for most of the time.
However during the night Elvis and June did go out to see some newsreel footage at the local theater. Unfortunately fans saw the limousine and vandalized it.

1961

Elvis flew to Los Angeles with Joe Esposito, Charlie Hodge and Billy Smith.
The other guys went by car. Elvis hired Marty Lacker. Also new in the house was Scatter, a chimpanzee.
Elvis got the chimp from Captain Bill Killebrew. The monkey was trained to "drive a car". Elvis and the guys really enjoyed the things the chimp did, unlike some of the girls around

1965

Bill Black died of a brain tumor and Elvis was quoted in the Commercial Appeal as saying that Bill "was a great man and a person that everyone loved. This comes as such a shock to me that I can hardly explain how much I loved Bill". Elvis didn't attend the funeral, as he was afraid of causing disruption.

1974

Dr Ghanem ordered a series of tests to determine the cause of Elvis' intestinal problems. These turned up a "nonpenetrating ulcer crater" along with "edematous mucosal folds". Elvis stayed in a special wing of Dr. Ghanem's home, for celebrity patients. Elvis had to go through a new "sleep diet", consisted of liquid nourishment and sedated rest.

1975

Elvis had contractual commitments to RCA and the Colonel had come up with several ideas to fulfill these. A collection of movie title tracks, an album especially for children and so forth. RCA had not yet responded to any of his suggestions, so now the Colonel went to RCA with a telegram from Elvis:
"I would like to work on an album for early '76 release, where I would do a combination, part conventional and part live from Las Vegas, during my Dec. 2-15 engagement. This would give a much better flavor with all the new material.
Best regards, Elvis" Nothing came from this suggestion.
After a stay of almost 3 months in a veterinary hospital in West Boston,
Elvis' chow returned home.

1976

Elvis performed at the Wings Stadium, Kalamazoo, Michigan at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 7200 and Elvis wore "1974 arabian" suit with "V-neck" suit belt.

Elvis performed today two times. The first one in "The Brooklyn High School Auditorium" Cleveland at 1.30 PM. The second in "St. Michael`s Hall" Cleveland om 8.00 PM.

1970

Again at the Schwartz and Ableser Jewelry Elvis signed for 2 diamond rings and 10 more TCB pendants.

1976

Elvis performed at "The Notre Dame University Athletic and Convention Center", South Bed, Indiana at 8:30 p.m. The crowd was 12000 and Elvis wore "Colorfull flame" suit with original belt.
